Contemporary India has been a debatable chapter in it's all ages. Turn the pages of History, the concept has never been uniform, it has always fought for the survival of different philosophies. The different civilisations which came from an alien world, settled here and got absorbed, taught something , learned something and got some new name in a newer dimension. But what I find controversial now, is the survival of a concept which has neither morphed itself nor it seems that it will put an end to itself soon.
Going briefly through the parties' manifesto, I find their proposed issues to tackle development in various sectors such as economic, social, educational, health etc. in a well strategic and determined way. It's not a new story what happens just after the big picture of election. But I want all of us to focus on a different dimension. I think it's not actually corruption, unwillingness, leakages, unawareness etc. as the major cause for the problems which this contemporary India is facing. I find rather that the basis "for" which we vote is completely different "on" the basis of which we vote.
We vote for issues which reflect a technocratic, capitalist and "Mission Mars" India but we vote on the basis of a Feudal India, a India which was perhaps the reason for being conquered at the foreign hands.
When we vote, what matters for us is the domicile of the candidate, and not the knowledge of the candidate, the knowledge which he/she will use for making his/her party manifesto a reality for the concerned constituency which may have a completely different demographic, density, amenities, dimension etc. I had very high hopes from the youths of today but it seems that it has distilled in the very beginning itself. Many of them are against the present government because they think that the present government could have delivered more, but what makes me to walk on a different line is the way they have taken these issues in public places. They have not only started posting or speaking derogatory comments which could hurt someone's interest but also they have started branding people as communist, fascist or whatever they consider as "bad"when the concerned person tries to bring into it's ambit a different picture.
I must say, they may not agree, but whatever they are doing to impose what they want is completely Feudal, a Fedualism being presented in a completely different fashion, it may not be "zamindari" but it's more than "atyachaari".

Quite considerate! Pointing fingers at incompetence of others is always easy, but if we start introspecting our own conscience right before that, it will make this world a lot better! The most important question is - are we ready to cast off the shell of our own orthodoxy yet? If we continue to defend the prejudices persisting in our mind then we will never become conscious, and until we become conscious this dream of a better nation will remain the dream of an unconscious mind waiting to be awakened! Thank you, it was a very good read, you stirred my thought process. It's not like we haven't discussed on this before but the way you expressed it, well, that was exemplary! Keep expressing :)
ReplyDeleteBhai i dont write blogs but i want to express my thoughts through your blog. I personally believe that congress has made a mind set that they are the only party in the country who can form a stable government and so far this is true also. As we know that this party has won most of the general elections except a few times. So they think that whatever they do this country will bring them back in power because they dont have any other option. You see the language that the ministers of UPA use as if they are the emperor of this country. But this time people of this country are going to show them their real position. I am not a modi bhakt but there is no harm in giving a chance to a person who has already proved his competency by his commendable job in Gujarat. Some people are worried that he is an oppressive leader and some expect that modi will do miracles and will change the fate of this country. This might be a disadvantage for BJP if they are able to form government because they will have to withstand high expectations. Whoever wins whatever happens people need to keep an eye on these law makers and show them backdoor if they do not work for the welfare of common man.
ReplyDeleteDoes it mean that if I won't write blogs, you won't express yourself?? Saaley, haramkhor, Shaadi bhi merey se puchh ke karega!! Start expressing, you are educated potential youth who has common sense (zyaada khus mat hona). What the result may be, let it be, if it's truth than so be it !!! Just you mention that you are against false and cheating sentiments and no other !!! And once again, START EXPRESSING
